Paediatrics in Perth. A team around you, and a life in the sun.
For paediatricians in the UK, Ireland, elsewhere overseas and interstate. We'll help you register, move, settle your family and train up for Australian practice.
Why Perth
One of the sunniest big cities on earth, with beautiful homes and great wine close by. Fair warning: it is very hard to leave.
We pay the best for the best
Western Australia's public consultant pay scale is already among the highest in Australia (WA Health agreement). The weather is a bonus.
Room for the whole family
Beautiful homes with room to breathe, and both our clinics are a short drive from the beach. Weekends tend to sort themselves out.
Calling home is easy
Perth is on UTC+8, the same as Singapore. Your evening is their morning in the UK and Ireland, so the family catch-up fits neatly after work.
We'll be with you the whole way
You start as a salaried employee for at least your first year, so you can focus on settling in.
Registration and specialist recognition
We guide you through AHPRA registration and your specialist assessment, step by step.
Your visa
We sponsor your work visa and hold your hand through every step of the process.
A relocation allowance
Help with the cost of moving you and your family to Perth.
Settling your family
Help finding a home, choosing schools and childcare, and meeting people in your new community.
Training up for Australian practice
A supported start with supervision, an introduction to Medicare and local systems, and training in developmental paediatrics.
Keep your acute skills
We're establishing partnerships with urgent care providers, so you can keep doing acute paediatrics if you wish.
UK and Irish general paediatricians (MRCPCH with a CCT, or MRCPI with a CSCST) may be eligible for AHPRA's Expedited Specialist pathway. Other paediatricians are assessed through the standard specialist pathway. We'll confirm the right route for you in our first conversation.
You do the medicine. We run the business.
The same support every Paeds Plus paediatrician gets.
Bookings and waitlists
Our practice team books, reminds, rebooks and manages every waitlist.
Referrals, already triaged
More than 1,100 children are on our waitlists. Referrals reach you triaged to the right clinic.
Billing and Medicare
We raise the fees, claim Medicare and follow up payments.
Systems, rooms and equipment
Practice software, IT, rooms and the equipment you ask for, all provided.
Your accountant, sorted
Our bookkeeper works directly with your accountant.
Management on hand
Speak directly with the management team about your practice and ideas. No bureaucracy.
How we work
- One team around each child: case discussions and internal referrals to psychiatry, occupational therapy, speech pathology and dietetics, down the corridor.
- Structured CPD for an hour every four weeks, with ethics and case discussion, on Zoom or recorded.
- A proper lunch break. For an hour, we all stop and eat together.
- Professional development leave for employed clinicians, in line with the public system.
- A fun and beautiful place to work. Build LEGO, enjoy big windows, and help shape our new Claremont centre.
We pay the best for the best
Choose a salaried role or a contractor arrangement. Both are built to reward your expertise and to be highly competitive in Perth. We'll take you through the real numbers in your first conversation.
Where the need is greatest
Developmental paediatrics is our biggest demand
ADHD, autism and developmental concerns make up most of our waitlist. We expect all of our paediatricians, apart from subspecialists such as cardiologists or rheumatologists, to see developmental patients.
Grow the clinic you want
Tell us the area you love. We'll work on your behalf to grow referrals in it, so you see more of those patients, and help you set up a dedicated clinic when demand is there.
